AEOLIS. Myrina. Circa 160-143 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 32 mm, 16.77 g, 12 h). Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. MΥΡINAIΩN Apollo Grynios standing right, holding phiale in his right hand and filleted branch in his left; at his feet to right, omphalos and amphora; in field to left, three monograms; all within laurel wreath. McClean 7946 and pl. 274, 15 (same obverse die). Sacks Issue 30 (obverse die 58). SNG Copenhagen -. SNG von Aulock -. Beautifully toned and of excellent style, a lovely example with a particularly fine head of Apollo. Very minor areas of weakness, otherwise, about extremely fine.
